Lund University Get Started Funding autumn 2025

 

 

 

Lund University's (LU) call for Get Started Funding is aimed at researchers from Lund University and select partner universities in non-EU/EEA countries newly associated to Horizon Europe (Canada, Egypt, Korea, New Zealand, Switzerland, UK and Ukraine)*. Funds of up to SEK 60 000 per award are available to develop collaborations which have the potential to lead to externally funded research projects and/or joint publications. Projects with UK, Swiss, or Ukrainian partners may receive up to SEK 25 000. Researcher teams (LU + partner university) are invited to submit applications in any academic field. Applications will be evaluated based on predetermined quality criteria.

Maximum amount of funding

SEK 60.000 with non-European partners and SEK 25.000 for projects with Swiss, UK or Ukrainian partners

Activities eligible for funding:

  • Workshop/meeting costs: room rental, food, technical support
  • Travel expenses, subsistence costs and accommodation of participants

Salary costs, consumables and scholarships are not eligible.

 

Allocation of funding

The total expenses for activities and travel costs cannot exceed SEK 60.000 (SEK 25.000 for projects with Swiss, UK and Ukrainian partners). Funds will be transferred to the department of the LU applicant at the end of the funding period through a "bokföringsorder" (reverse OH on direct costs).

  

Application guidelines

The application has to be submitted by the LU researcher through this application portal and shall include:

  • Aim of the collaboration
  • Description and timline of the activities for which funding is applied
  • Letter of interest from the researcher at the partner university (e-mail is sufficient)
  • CV of each of the researchers (LU and partner university).

 

Key assessment criteria

  • Quality and feasibility of planned activities and the alignment of the budget with the scope of the work
  • Strategic value of the research collaboration
  • Sustainability of collaboration: potential for subsequent larger research/collaboration projects and/or to generate external funding.

Priority will be given to applications that clearly demonstrate the potential impact of the proposed activity, that involve or plan to involve organisations other than universities from the broader research and innovation eco-system of one or both partner universities, and to applicants that have not previously received Get Started Funding.

The assessment is conducted by representatives from the LU Division of Global Engagement. Please use language that is approapriate for evaluators who may not have specialist knowledge in the scientific field of your project.
